Im Lahntal liegen Natur und Kultur dicht beeinander und lassen sich gut miteinander kombinieren. Hinzu kommen sehenswerte St\u00e4dte an der Lahn wie <a href=\"https:\/\/www.people-abroad.de\/blog\/bad-ems-sehenswuerdigkeiten\/\">Bad Ems<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.people-abroad.de\/blog\/limburg-an-der-lahn-sehenswuerdigkeiten\/\">Limburg an der Lahn<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.people-abroad.de\/blog\/marburg-sehenswuerdigkeiten\/\">Marburg<\/a>, Gie\u00dfen und <a href=\"https:\/\/www.people-abroad.de\/blog\/wetzlar-sehenswuerdigkeiten\/\">Wetzlar<\/a>\u00a0mit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.people-abroad.de\/blog\/leica-wetzlar-ernst-leitz-museum\/\">Leica Wetzlar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Die Lahn flie\u00dft auf insgesamt 245 km durch Rheinland-Pfalz und Hessen, wobei sich ein kleiner Teil ab der M\u00fcndung in Nordrhein-Westfalen befindet. Von der Quelle im Rothaargebirge schl\u00e4ngelt sich der Fluss durch das beschauliche Tal bis zur M\u00fcndung in den Rhein bei Lahnstein. Man unterscheidet Oberes Lahntal, Mittleres Lahntal und Unteres Lahntal.<\/p>\n<p>Drei Outdoor-Aktivit\u00e4ten sind im Lahntal besonders beliebt: Radfahren, Wandern und Kanufahren. Aus diesem Grund habe diese Aktivit\u00e4ten bei meiner Reise in die Region getestet und meine Tipps dazu in diesem Artikel zusammengefasst. Die Tipps beziehen sich auf das Untere Lahntal, also den Abschnitt zwischen Diez und Lahnstein in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.people-abroad.de\/blog\/ausflugsziele-sehenswuerdigkeiten-rheinland-pfalz\/\">Rheinland-Pfalz<\/a>. Auf 245 km geht es auf relativ flacher Strecke von der Quelle bis zur M\u00fcndung der Lahn. Die meisten fahren ihn genau in dieser Richtung, also vom Rothaargebirge bis nach Lahnstein. Der Radweg verl\u00e4uft auf der linken Seite der Lahn ab der M\u00fcndung. Hinein geht&#8217;s ins idyllische Tal, vorbei an Friedland, Friedrichssegen, Miellen und Fachbach. Die sehenswerte Kurstadt ist bekannt f\u00fcr seine pr\u00e4chtigen Geb\u00e4ude, eine historisch gewachsene B\u00e4derkultur und eine moderne Thermallandschaft. Seit dem 24. Juli 2021 geh\u00f6rt Bad Ems auch zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe der \u201eGreat Spa Towns of Europe&#8220;. Erbaut wurde es 1715 als \u201eNassauer Badehaus\u201c, sp\u00e4ter dann restauriert und erweitert. In dem imposanten Geb\u00e4ude befinden sich auch ein Hotel und ein Restaurant. Dann rollt das Rad weiter am Wasser entlang durch den Naturpark Nassau. Gem\u00fctliche Gassen, historische Geb\u00e4ude, idyllische Lage am Fluss. Der alte Ortskern ist von einer Stadtmauer umgeben. Auf dem Foto sieht man den westlichen\u00a0 Torturm und die St. Kastorkirche. Die Stadt ist eine Wiege europ\u00e4ischer Monarchien und geschichtlich bedeutsam, z.B. als Herzogtum Nassau. Sehenswert sind die Burg Nassau, Steinsches Schloss mit Schlosspark, Johanniskirche und das historische Rathaus. Der Radweg schl\u00e4ngelt sich teils an Felsen entlang und f\u00fchrt oberhalb der Lahn entlang. An einer Bank hat man einen sch\u00f6nen Blick hin\u00fcber zum Kloster Arnstein. Die Geschichte der Abtei geht bis ins 11. Jahrhundert zur\u00fcck. Der Ort geh\u00f6rt zu den wenigen Weinbau-Gemeinden an der Lahn. Hier schmiegen sich die Rebsorten Riesling, Regent und Sp\u00e4tburgunder an die H\u00e4nge im Tal. Derzeit ist ein Ausbau in Planung. Der offizielle Radweg f\u00fchrt hier weg von der Lahn, hinauf \u00fcber die Orte Scheidt und Holzappel wieder hinab an den Fluss. Der Abschnitt ist dann gut befahrbar, auch der Trail mit Wurzeln und Steinen. Wer den offiziellen Radweg \u00fcber die Anh\u00f6he nimmt, kann einen Stopp beim Herthasee in Holzappel einplanen. Wenig sp\u00e4ter erreicht man das beschauliche Balduinstein. Neben der gleichnamigen Burgruine, dem Port-Turm und der Pfarrkirche ist vor allem das oberhalb gelegene Schloss Schaumburg interessant. Zwischen beiden St\u00e4dten verl\u00e4uft auch die Grenze zwischen Rheinland-Pfalz und Hessen. F\u00fcr Limburg sollte man unbedingt mehr Zeit einplanen und den Limburger Dom, das Di\u00f6zesanmuseum mit Domschatz, die Burg Limburg, die Alte Lahnbr\u00fccke und das Neue Rathaus anschauen. Mit dem R\u00f6mer 2-4-6 steht hier eines der \u00e4ltesten, freistehenden Fachwerkh\u00e4user in Deutschland. Besonders sch\u00f6n sind auch die Pl\u00e4tze Fischmarkt, Heumarkt, Kornmarkt und Bischofsplatz. Viele Gaststuben, Restaurants und Caf\u00e9s laden zum Einkehren ein.<\/p>\n<p>In Limburg an der Lahn endet meine Tagestour (Etappe 4) auf dem Lahnradweg. Da ich in Bad Ems \u00fcbernachte, fahre ich die Strecke zur\u00fcck mit dem Zug. Die Bahnverbindungen im Lahntal sind gut, wie ich in den drei Tagen, in denen ich in der Region \u00f6fter mit der Bahn unterwegs bin, festgestellt habe. Da die Lahn insgesamt eher ruhig und langsam flie\u00dft, ist der Fluss ideal auch f\u00fcr Anf\u00e4nger, die das gerne mal ausprobieren m\u00f6chten. Au\u00dferdem ist es auf dem Fluss relativ ruhig. Die gleichm\u00e4\u00dfigen Paddel-Bewegungen wirken fast schon meditativ. Auf der Lahn gibt es nur geringe bzw. leichte Stromschnellen. V\u00f6gel, Schw\u00e4ne und Enten gab es zu entdecken, wie auch K\u00fche und Ziegen an Land. Die Etappen einer Kanutour lassen sich individuell festlegen, entsprechend der Ein- und Ausstiegsstellen.<\/p>\n<p>Entlang der Lahn gibt es viele <a href=\"https:\/\/www.daslahntal.de\/wasserwandern\/mit-dem-kanu-unterwegs\/kanuverleiher\/\">Kanuverleiher<\/a>, bei denen man sich ein Kanu ausleihen oder eine gef\u00fchrte Tour buchen kann. N\u00fctzlich f\u00fcr Anf\u00e4nger sind die <a href=\"https:\/\/www.daslahntal.de\/wasserwandern\/goldene-regeln\/\">Goldenen Regeln auf dem Wasser<\/a> vom Lahntal Tourismus und die Tipps, wie man sich im Naturraum Lahn mit dem Kanu richtig verh\u00e4lt. Der Klassiker in der Region ist der Lahnwanderweg. Auf insgesamt 19 Etappen ist er mit einem roten LW gekennzeichnet. LahnWeinStieg, Rothaarsteig-Spur und Bergmannsroute geh\u00f6ren u.a. dazu. Vom Parkhaus am Kurpark in der Grabenstra\u00dfe f\u00fchrt ein sch\u00f6ner Felsenpfad hinauf zu Aussichtspunkten \u00fcber der Stadt. Am Weg befinden sich auch die faszinierenden Heinzelmannsh\u00f6hlen. Diese Karstr\u00f6hren entstanden durch Kalkauswaschungen. Da ich fr\u00fch am Morgen unterwegs war, lag noch der Nebel \u00fcber dem Lahntal. Hier verf\u00e4uft \u00fcbrigens auch der Lahnwanderweg, der Lahnh\u00f6henweg, die Vier-T\u00fcrme-Tour, der Baedeckers Felsenweg oder die Romantik-Runde rund um Bad Ems.
