Ein malerisches und idyllisches Mittelgebirge mit sanften und bewaldeten H\u00fcgeln sowie zahlreichen Burgen und sch\u00f6nen Wanderwegen. Markant im Pf\u00e4lzerwald ist der rote Buntsandstein, der vor allem in der S\u00fcdpfalz zu finden ist.<\/p>\n<p>Ein tolles Ausflugsziel im Pf\u00e4lzerwald ist der Teufelstisch in Hinterweidenthal. Dieser eindrucksvolle Felsen aus Buntsandstein ist mit seiner H\u00f6he von 14 Metern der h\u00f6chste von mehr als 20 Pilsfelsen im Pf\u00e4lzerwald. Zu erreichen ist die idyllische Gemeinde \u00fcber die B10 aus Richtung Landau in der Pfalz (A65, Abfahrt Landau-Nord) oder von Pirmasens aus, ebenfalls \u00fcber die B10. Aus s\u00fcdlicher Richtung (Dahn) f\u00e4hrt man \u00fcber die B427, aus n\u00f6rdlicher Richtung \u00fcber die A62, B270 oder B48 &#8211; jeweils abh\u00e4ngig vom Ausgangspunkt.<\/p>\n<p>Parken kann man auf dem Parkplatz Erlebnispark Teufelstisch westlich von der Gemeinde. Von dort sind es nur 300 Meter bis zum Teufelstisch. Hinterweidenthal ist auch mit dem Bus (Linie 252) und den Regionalbahnen RB 55 (Hinterweidenthal) und RB 56 (Hinterweidenthal Ost) erreichbar. Von dort aus wandert man der Beschilderung nach in Richtung Westen und steht schon nach wenigen Minuten direkt unter dem imposanten Felsen. M\u00e4chtig erhebt er sich \u00fcber den weitl\u00e4ufigen H\u00fcgeln des Pf\u00e4lzerwaldes. Der tischartige Block oben sch\u00fctzt die weicheren D\u00fcnnschichten unterhalb vor einer weiteren Abtragung. Der Felsen steht auf einer H\u00f6he von 284 Metern auf einem Bergr\u00fccken. Dieser erstreckt sich vom Etschberg bis zum Handschuh-Kopf auf einer L\u00e4nge von etwa 2 km. Der Premiumweg mit mittlerem Schwierigkeitsgrad hat einen Aufstieg und Abstieg von jeweils 316 H\u00f6henmetern. Er ist familienfreundlich und bietet M\u00f6glichkeiten zum Einkehren am Start- bzw. Zielpunkt. Der Salzbach verl\u00e4uft teils parallel zum schattigen Waldweg. In westlicher Sicht befinden sich Ruppertsfelsen und Kleiner Schiffelskopf, dahinter liegt die Gemeinde Ruppertsweiler. Von Salzwoog aus f\u00fchrt dann ein schmaler Pfad nach Osten, der sp\u00e4ter nach Norden abbiegt. M\u00fcde und hungrig suchte er nach einem Rastplatz. Da er keine Stelle fand, griff er sich w\u00fctend drei riesige Felsbrocken und errichtete sie zu einem Tisch. Er speiste dort, brach danach auf und lie\u00df den Tisch stehen.<\/p>\n<p>Am folgenden Tag waren sich die Pf\u00e4lzer sicher: Hier hat der Teufel gespeist! Ein junger Mann wollte das nicht so recht glauben und zog in der darauffolgenden Nacht los. In weiter Ferne h\u00f6rt man zur zw\u00f6lften Stunde einen bitterlichen Schrei. Diese Felsenformation ist auch als Naturdenkmal und als Kulturdenkmal ausgewiesen. M\u00e4chtig und bis zu einer H\u00f6he von 30 Metern erheben sie sich vom Waldboden empor. F\u00fcr Wanderer, Naturliebhaber und Fotografen lohnt sich der Besuch dieser gro\u00dfen Felsen unbedingt. Der Altschlosspfad f\u00fchrt auf 10,7 km zu dieser imposanten Felsformation mit tollen Ausblicken auf die Felsen.<\/p>\n<p>Als Abschluss der Wanderung bietet sich z.B. eine Einkehr im Restaurant \u201eHotel Kupper\u201c am Parkplatz und Startpunkt zum Altschlosspfad an. Zum Restaurant geh\u00f6rt auch ein Biergarten, in dem es Gerichte sowie Kaffee und Kuchen gibt. Der Altschlosspfad ist sehr abwechslungsreich und der Rundweg l\u00e4sst sich rund dreieinhalb bis vier Stunden erwandern. Mit 5,4 km ist er der k\u00fcrzeste Premium-Wanderweg in der Pfalz. Bei einem Aufstieg von 163 m, einem Abstieg von 193 m\u00a0 und einer reinen Laufzeit von etwas mehr als zwei Stunden ist er als leicht einzustufen und familienfreundlich.<\/p>\n<p>Als Startpunkt bietet sich der Parkplatz an der Gemeindehalle in Lug an. Der n\u00e4chstgelegene Bahnhof ist Wilgartswiesen. Vom Parkplatz aus sind es nur wenige Meter bis zum Dorfplatz in Lug. Danach geht es rechts an der Katholischen Kirche vorbei und man folgt der Beschilderung \u201eGeiersteine-Tour\u201c. Mit etwa 8 km und 360 H\u00f6henmetern geh\u00f6rt sie zu den k\u00fcrzeren Touren in der Pfalz und man sollte rund drei Stunden daf\u00fcr einplanen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Spirkelbacher H\u00f6llenberg-Tour ist ein abwechslungsreicher Rundweg mit sch\u00f6nen Ausblicken und guten Rastpl\u00e4tzen. Trittsicherheit ist erfolderlich und aufgrund der schmalen Pfade ist der Weg zwar familienfreundlich, aber z.B. nicht mit einem Kinderwagen zu meistern.
